DC Climate Tech: Jan 15 - Jan 22
Happy hours, book launches, local policy, environmental justice, and climate events this week!
Hi friends,
Welcome to the first edition of DC Climate Tech! We’ve been running newsletters like this in NYC, Seattle, SF, and LA, and it’s high time we came to our nation’s capital!
The way this works: every week we send out an email with upcoming climate tech events in the DC Metro Area. When we have time, we’ll also feature local policy initiatives, groups, and opportunities.
Our newsletters always take a broad approach to “climate tech”: we include events on sustainable policy, energy, transportation, food, finance, fashion, software, science, art, literature, culture… you name it. These newsletters serve as a platform to bring together people interested in climate with great events, so you can go meet each other.
With that said, here are our picks for the week:
Head to American University on Wednesday for a book launch 📚 Saving Ourselves: From Climate Shocks to Climate Action and panel
Also on Wednesday, if you’re in Fairfax, get involved locally at the 👩🏽⚖️ City of Fairfax: Environmental Sustainability Committee Meeting.
Join DC EcoWomen on Thursday for the 🌱 January 2024 EcoHour, featuring Dr. Ana Prados, an expert in scientific data-driven environmental management.
Also on Thursday, head to the Capital Jewish Museum for 🗣️ Conversations about Environmental Justice over a shared meal
There’s even more going on this week and next—scroll down for the full list!
Cheers,
Alec, Sonam, and the Climate Tech Cities Team
