The OpenAir Carbon Removal Challenge is a worldwide challenge for students to create new processes, approaches and prototypes to remove carbon from the land, waters, or air. The Bloomberg Green Docs competition is open to all eligible filmmakers who would like to compete to win a $25,000 grand prize for a short climate documentary. We want to explore our climate future with documentaries that reveal the world we are making today.  Ecosystems are being restored and tomorrow’s zero-carbon communities are being formed.  At the same time, extremes in our habitats warn of cascading climate consequences.

🎬 Climate Film Festival Open Call (Due Jun. 3)

The Climate Film Festival (CFF) is New York City’s first film festival dedicated to climate in all its forms. From narrative and documentary features to experimental shorts and music videos, CFF harnesses the transformative power of motion pictures, showcasing new and established voices, classic climate films, and energizing, human stories. Our inaugural festival will take place from September 20-22, 2024 during the opening weekend of Climate Week NYC.

Welcome to the first edition of DC Climate Tech! We’ve been running newsletters like this in NYC, Seattle, SF, and LA, and it’s high time we came to our nation’s capital!

The way this works: every week we send out an email with upcoming climate tech events in the DC Metro Area. When we have time, we’ll also feature local policy initiatives, groups, and opportunities.

Our newsletters always take a broad approach to “climate tech”: we include events on sustainable policy, energy, transportation, food, finance, fashion, software, science, art, literature, culture… you name it. These newsletters serve as a platform to bring together people interested in climate with great events, so you can go meet each other.

📚 SIS Book Launch: Saving Ourselves: From Climate Shocks to Climate Action
